Your Role
You will be a core technical execution force within a small architecture team, transforming raw business logic into highly scalable, automated data pipelines. This is a pure engineering and coding role where you will design solutions, write clean code, and set up modern infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and automated workflows from scratch.
- Writing robust Python/PySpark notebooks to process, clean, and standardise raw, unstructured, or API-driven data.
- Translating complex business requirements into high-performing data models and storage designs.
- Setting up infrastructure as code and ensuring data assets are secure, resilient, and observable.
- Collaborating closely with peer analysts and architects to eliminate data inconsistencies and build a real-time data platform.
- Salary: Up to $130k per annum + benefits.
- Flexibility: Up to 3 days work-from-home, 2 days in the office.

To nail this role, you need to be a logical problem-solver who can not only build great data pipelines but also clearly articulate why you chose one solution over another. What you’ll bring:
- The Technical Core: Solid experience as a Data Engineer with advanced Python and PySpark skills (these are non-negotiable).
- Cloud & Tools: Strong familiarity with the Azure cloud environment, including Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Synapse.
- Data Architecture Knowledge: Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational data formats (SQL, JSON), APIs, and a basic knowledge of Delta Lake/Medallion architecture concepts.
- Communication: Exceptional English communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts simply to both technical peers and business stakeholders.
- Bonus Points: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) will be hugely beneficial.
