Test hardware-to-cloud tech in Wairau Valley! Join a top team with flexible hours, hybrid options, and a variety of manual and automated tasks.
Why You’d Like It
Imagine working on technology that covers the entire hardware-to-software lifecycle. This isn't your typical "web only" testing role; you’ll be getting hands-on with everything from silicon-level electronics to cloud-based applications. If you are naturally inquisitive and enjoy a role where your technical curiosity is rewarded with genuine variety, this Wairau Valley-based team offers a unique playground for your skills.

The Story
The development team is a tight knit group of 10, a mix of software and hardware engineers who value a "lightweight Agile" approach. They are looking for a new Software Tester to step in and become a key player in their quality process. This isn't a place for someone who wants to be a small cog in a massive corporate machine; it’s for someone who wants to take ownership of testing strategies and help a supportive team move faster and smarter.

Company Profile
Based in Auckland’s North Shore, this organisation is a specialist in power management technology. They maintain a friendly, sensible culture where collaboration is the norm rather than the exception. While they have the stability of an established business, the development environment remains fast-paced and flexible, avoiding the rigid red tape often found in larger firms.

Your Role

  • Developing detailed test plans to cover new features and emerging technologies.
  • Using Python, SQL, or C# to enhance and build out automated testing systems.
  • Engaging with engineers to understand the "big picture" of a feature, even when formal documentation is light.
  • Providing technical support to the wider team and maintaining accurate project tracking.
Your Fit
  • Proven experience in both manual and automated testing processes.
  • Strong coding proficiency in Python, SQL, or C#.
  • Familiarity with Jira and test management tools like Xray.
  • Basic competence in Windows and Linux administration.
  • A qualification in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • The ability to "read between the lines" , you are someone who researches a feature thoroughly before raising a defect.
