The Story
Our client is shifting gears. While their data capabilities are already substantial, they are looking to bridge the gap between complex raw data and high-level strategic decision-making. They don’t just need numbers; they need a narrative. This is a newly created, pivotal spot in the Strategic Insights team, designed to take the pressure off senior management by having someone capable of interpreting data before it hits the boardroom. You aren't just filling a seat, you are being brought in to "imagine retail" and provide the reactive, deep-dive insights that drive the business forward.

Your Role
Acting as the translator between technical data and non-technical leadership, you will act as an extension of the Strategy Manager to deliver insights that spark genuine change.

• Storytelling & Influence: You’ll take complex datasets and weave them into compelling narratives that influence senior stakeholders and strategy.
• Technical Execution: You will get your hands dirty writing high-quality SQL queries, Python code, and building advanced visualisations in Tableau.
• Strategic Analysis: Unlike standard BI, this role is about reactive, deep-dive problem solving, connecting dots between logistics, customer behaviour, and inventory.
• Mentorship: You’ll act as a senior figure in the team, coaching junior analysts and role-modelling best practices in coding and communication.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will work alongside Tech Leads and Data Scientists to ensure the business is making end-to-end decisions based on solid evidence.

Your Fit
We are looking for someone who has earned their stripes, roughly 5+ years in the game. You need to be technically advanced in SQL and Python, with a mastery of visualisation tools like Tableau. But the tech is just the baseline, your real superpower is communication. You’re the person who can explain why the numbers matter to a Commercial Manager without making their eyes glaze over.
