Due to sustained growth and the continuous evolution of their platform, our client is looking for a talented engineer to join their Auckland-based team. You'll be a key player in developing backend services and integrations, helping to shape the future of a complex and interesting product. This isn't about maintaining the old; it's about building the new.

Your Role

• Taking ownership of the full development lifecycle – from analysis and design through to development and testing of new features.
• Focusing on backend and system integration to build reliable, efficient, and scalable solutions.
• Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving issues within the production environment.
• Actively contributing to a culture of quality by participating in peer code reviews.
• Writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Collaborating closely with your cross-functional team, including QAs, Product Owners, and other engineers.  

Your Fit

• A minimum of three years' commercial experience in a backend-focused role using C# and .NET.
• Demonstrable experience with a major cloud provider (they use Azure, but AWS or GCP experience is also valued).
• A solid understanding of modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, code reviews, and writing unit and integration tests.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex challenges.
• A proactive attitude and a desire to take initiative rather than waiting for direction.
• A genuine growth mindset and the ambition to develop into a Senior Engineer.
