The Story

With an established team and a strong Android application already in the field, they’re seeking a Technical Lead to guide development and mentor a team of talented engineers. You'll take the reins on product direction, architecture, and coding standards, all while remaining actively involved in building features that connect mobile software to physical devices.

Your Role 

• Take ownership of Android development, using Kotlin and Java to build robust, scalable mobile apps.
• Work hands on 50% of the time, while contributing the remaining 50% toward design, architecture, and strategic decisions.
• Drive architectural thinking, solution design, and roadmap planning alongside technical leadership.
• Play a key role in the compliance focused product stream, integrating with Bluetooth devices, sensors, and telematics data.
• Collaborate closely with backend teams (Node.js, Azure Service Bus) to ensure seamless end to end experiences.
• Participate in hiring and onboarding as the team scales, shaping the future of mobile development internally.

Your Fit

• Deep experience with Android native development using Kotlin and Java.
• Expertise in reactive programming, particularly RxJava (core to the app’s architecture).
• Strong architectural thinking and the ability to lead technical design and decision making.
• Comfortable mentoring junior and intermediate developers, and leading by example.
• Bonus: exposure to event streaming and backend tech such as Node.js and Azure Service Bus.
• A proactive communicator who enjoys working in cross functional teams and shaping product strategy.
